Appointments

Coronavirus

We have had to make significant changes to how our appointments are offered during the current covid 19 pandemic.

For the time being, the vast majority of our consultations will be over the phone.

If you wish to speak to a doctor, please phone and our reception staff will take your details and place you in a queue for a call back. We would appreciate if you could call as early as possible in the morning. The doctors will then work to return calls throughout the morning and afternoon. In exceptional cases it may be required to have you attend the practice after your telephone call- the doctor will discuss this with you if needed.

We are closed for lunch between 13:00 and 14:00 so calls will not be taken during this time. Please note that after 17:00, anything other than cases of medical emergency will be asked to call the next day.

Appointments System

Please see the information above- we hope this situation will only be a temporary arrangement and will attempt to reintroduce pre bookable appointments as soon as is safe to do so.

Home Visits

If you think a home visit may be required, please make every effort to telephone before 10.00am so that our receptionists can log the call for doctor assessment. A doctor will phone you back to gather information about the problem: it may be possible to deal with your problem by telephone, referral to district nurses or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

Only patients who are terminally ill or truly bed bound will normally be granted a home visit.

All other patients who require face-to-face assessment are expected to attend the surgery where we have full medical equipment and staff to give patients a higher quality of care.

Patients who are shielding because of corona virus will be considered on an individual basis. House visits will only be considered in extreme circumstances- the last thing we want is to expose you and your family to potential harm by inadvertently bringing corona virus into your house.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
